Winner of the 2011 Kennerspiel des Jahres award, 7 Wonders is a card-drafting game for 2 to 7 players. At its core, the object of the game is to acquire as many victory points as possible, and there’s more than one way to win. You could focus on acquiring resources to build the “Wonder of the Ancient World” depicted on your individual Wonder board. Or you might decide to focus on building other various structures or going to war with your neighbors. No matter the path you choose, this game stays fresh over multiple replays, mainly due to the unique Wonder boards. Each board provides players with a starting resource and contains multiple building stages of that Wonder of the World that result in victory points, additional resources, rewards, or new actions.
These boards are integral to the gameplay, but tableau building games like 7 Wonders can take up a lot of space. What if your tabletop space is limited, or you’d like to keep your game in a more compact and travel-friendly container? I’ve designed a solution: portable Wonder boards. These 3.25″ x 2.25″ card-sized templates can be used in place of the original Wonder boards and contain all the essential gameplay mechanics. The template design and minimalist artwork is my own, with the remaining images belonging to the game’s designer.
